Rohtak, May 15, 2026: In a major citizen-centric healthcare governance initiative, the Rohtak district administration has launched the “Ayushman Sarathi” initiative to ensure that every eligible citizen receives seamless, timely and hassle-free access to healthcare benefits under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Chirayu Haryana.
Under this initiative, hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman scheme will no longer function merely as treatment centres, but will serve as active healthcare facilitators, patient support partners and frontline implementation stakeholders, helping eligible citizens access treatment without procedural barriers.
Chairing a review meeting with private hospital representatives empanelled under the Ayushman scheme and Health Department officials at the Mini Secretariat, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta issued clear directions for citizen-friendly implementation of the initiative.
“The objective is simple and uncompromising—no eligible citizen should be denied treatment due to lack of information, procedural complexity or absence of an Ayushman card at the time of need,” said Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta.
He directed all empanelled hospitals to prominently display information regarding Ayushman eligibility criteria, available treatment packages, patient rights, helpdesk contact details and helpline numbers, ensuring that citizens are immediately informed about their entitlements upon arrival.
A key feature of the initiative is real-time eligibility verification at the hospital level. Hospitals have been instructed to immediately check the Ayushman eligibility status of every incoming patient requiring treatment.
In cases where a patient is found eligible but does not possess an Ayushman card, hospitals have been directed to actively coordinate with the concerned authorities for immediate card facilitation and treatment access, ensuring that medical care is not delayed due to documentation gaps.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta also directed all empanelled hospitals to establish dedicated Ayushman Help Desks staffed with trained Ayushman Mitras or designated personnel capable of assisting beneficiaries efficiently.
He emphasised that doctors, administrative staff and claim-processing teams must be fully conversant with scheme eligibility norms, treatment packages, documentation protocols and approval workflows, so that beneficiaries receive accurate and prompt assistance.
Addressing claim management, the Deputy Commissioner observed that many claim rejections occur due to technical errors, incomplete documentation or incorrect data entry. To address this, hospitals have been instructed to ensure accurate documentation, complete patient records and error-free claim submissions, thereby improving approval rates and reducing inconvenience to patients.
DC Sachin Gupta said that the district administration views the Ayushman framework not merely as a health insurance mechanism, but as an instrument of dignified healthcare access and social protection for economically vulnerable families.
“The Ayushman Sarathi initiative transforms hospitals into citizen service partners, ensuring that public healthcare entitlements translate into real, accessible benefits on the ground,” he added.
Officials of the Health Department, Ayushman nodal officers and representatives of empanelled private hospitals were present during the meeting.
