RMLNLU- Lucknow wins the X Season of Dr.D R Singh Memorial British Parliamentary Debate organized at PCTE
Ludhiana, February 15, 2019: After two long days of Dr.D R Singh Memorial British Parliamentary Debate at PCTE Group of Institutes Ludhiana, the participants mesmerized and swayed the audience by their imaginative thinking, knowledge, contents, expressions, and fluency. The First Position was bagged by RMLNLU, Lukhnow and won a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh, sponsored by SEL Manufacturing Company Ltd. The event was a platform for the students to foster healthy argumentation, the amount and quality of knowledge and experience shared during the tenure was immeasurable. There was an immense response from 40 teams across India and neighboring countries which could be seen by the level of enthusiasm and the hard work done by the students. The Second position was bagged by RGNUL, Patiala and third was bagged by Delhi University and won a cash prize worth Rs 25,000 and Rs 10000. Other teams that made it the quarterfinals were Law College Dehradun, DMC Ludhiana, ICFAI University Dehradun, Aurobindo College and won a cash prize worth 3000. The Guest of the event was Mr. V.K Goyal, Executive Director & Group CEO, SEL Manufacturing Company Ltd., Mr. Goyal shared his life experience and said that if one is successful in life he/she should not have ego and attitude, one should work honestly, he further added by saying that there is nothing called destiny that already exist, we create our own destiny Dr. K.N.S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the winners and said that “These debates encourage the students to participate, gain knowledge and insights into variable issues. Unlike, the regular debates organized by various schools and colleges of the region, the British Parliamentary Debate entails a Knock Out League match pattern - where two teams after draws fight against each other in a nearly hour-long debate, and the winner goes to the next round”.
