Researchers awarded Shiv Nath Rai Kohli Memorial Mid-Career Best Scientist Award
The following researchers of various institutions of Higher Learning located in Chandigarh/Punjab were awarded the Shiv Nath Rai Kohli Memorial Mid-Career Best Scientist Award” comprising cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 and a plaque with citation.

Chandigarh, May 21, 2023: The following researchers of various institutions of Higher Learning located in Chandigarh/Punjab were awarded the Shiv Nath Rai Kohli Memorial Mid-Career Best Scientist Award” comprising cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 and a plaque with citation. For the year 2021 award has been shared by two academicians. Awards has been presented during the 70th Convocation of Panjab University, Chandigarh on 20th May, 2023:
1. Dr. Neeraj Kumar, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Thapar University, Patiala, (Awardee of the Year 2019).
2. Dr. Ritesh Agarwal, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh, (Awardee of the Year 2020).
3. Dr. Pavleen Soni, Associate Professor, GNDU, Amritsar, (Awardee of the Year 2021).
4. Dr. Neeraj K. Singh, Deputy Librarian, Panjab University, Chandigarh, (Awardee of the Year 2021).
Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, joined the Panjab University in 2007 and is presently working as a Deputy Librarian in A C Joshi Library, PU, Chandigarh since 2018. He did PhD from PU, Chandigarh on the topic “Radio Frequency Identification technology application in libraries and information centres of Northern India: A study”.
He has been awarded the Prestigious Commonwealth Professional Fellowship twice in the year 2012 and in 2017 at University of East London, London, UK.
He has a number of other awards and honours to his credit like the University Librarian of the Year Award 2021 by MPLA; Best service award 2009 for designing and developing the Chemistry portal by Panjab University; honoured by the Vice - Chancellor on the occasion of Republic Day ceremony, 26 January 2011 for a portal on Handling of Hazardous Materials etc.
