Relevance of Criticism in Literature

Jalandhar, July 8, 2016: Punjab Literary Academy, Chandigarh and Guru Nanak Dev University College Jalandhar in a collaboration organised a one day seminar on "Relevance of Criticism in Literature".
The seminar was organised by the honourable Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar. Dr. Brar presided over the morning session where he spoke about the importance of Punjabi language, literature and criticism. Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh Randhawa and the eminent poet and president of Punjab Literary Akademi, Surjeet Pattar welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and also spoke about the relevance and importance of criticism in literature.
In the afternoon session writers such as Prem Prakash, critic Dr. Surjeet Singh from Punjabi University, Patiala presented their views on the topic. Eminent literary scholars such as Dr. Piyaara Singh Bhogal, S. Satnam Singh Manak, Dr. Harjinder Atwal, Des Raj Kali also graced the occasion with their presence. Students and scholars from various colleges were also present. The seminar was very well hosted by Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal.
