Rally of Vintage Cars reaches Dharamshala
Dharamshala, September 22, 2018: Himalayan Challenge, Delhi to Kathmandu, the vintage car rally, which started on Thursday from Delhi reached in the cold rainy day in Dharamshala this evening. The cars had a night stay yesterday at Chandigarh, and will leave for Manali tomorrow. Santosh Patial, SP, Kangra said, “Today at around 6:00 PM prestigious Vintage and Classic car exploration trip consisting of 47 cars reached at McLeodganj in Upper Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. All the members of this trip will stay for the night at Satowari (McLeodganj) in Moksha Hotel. From here they will drive tomorrow to Manali, Kaza, Sangala, Shimla and onwards to Nepal. In order to make this trip a success, necessary directions have been issued to all concerned SHOs to maintain proper law and order and traffic management within their respective jurisdictions while crossing the above car rally through Kangra District.” On Thursday, UK-based Endurance Rally Association, which has organised some of the toughest car rallies—Sahara Desert to Dakar, London to China, Peking to Paris, around the World in 80 Days—started the Himalayan Challenge, with vintage cars. Open only to pre-1976 cars. The rally will take participants from Delhi to Dharamshala – Manali-Shimla , onwards to Kathmandu in Nepal, before culminating in Agra on October 11.
