Chandigarh, December 8, 2015: Punjab has finalised all the preliminary arrangements for the Punjab State Teachers (TET) scheduled to be held on December 13, 2015. To guard 333 examination centres coordination with District Civil and Police administration has been established so that 1,73,975 students could appear in TET-1 and TET-2. Disclosing this Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab said that to review the elaborate arrangements made by state government a video conferring with all the Deputy Commissioners, SSPs and District Education Officers has been held today at committee room of Punjab Civil Secretariet-2, Chandigarh.
The Minister said that all officers have been asked to ensure the security and amicable atmosphere around the examination centres so that the students could appear in the test without any external pressure and fear. He said that the state government has resolve to conduct the test in transparent and objective manner. He said that out of the total 1,73,975 students 39595 students would appear in TET-1 and 1,34,780 students appear in TET-2 examination.
He said that the duration of each test is 2 hours and 30 minutes but specially abled students would be given 50 minutes extra. The minister said that to ensure the transparency and fare conduct in the examination the students have been prohibited to carry pen and wrist watches with them. He said that wall clocks would be installed in all the examination centres. Students could only carry roll no.
He said that a nodal office in each district has been established where the question papers and OMR sheets would be stored and further distributed to the examination centres. He further added that he had instructed the DCs to depute ADC or SDM rank officers to be in charge of concerned District Nodal Offices. He said that full proof security arrangements would be in place at all the examination centres with all the necessary apparatus in place including the deputing of the police officer with minimum SHO rank.
Dr Cheema further divulged that videography of all centres would be conducted. He also said that instructions have been passed on to all the SSPs for ensuring smooth traffic arrangements. He said that the Punjab School Education Board has established a toll free no 82874-47722 for all types of enquiries concerning TET.
In this meeting, Principal Secretary Mr. C. Roul, Secretary Mr. H.S. Nanda, Director General School Education Mr. Pardeep Aggarwal, Chairperson Punjab School Education Board Dr. Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Joint Secretary Punjab School Education Board Mr. Janak Raj Mehrok, DPI (Elementary Education) Mr. Harbans Singh Sidhu and Director, SCERT Mr. Sukhdev Singh Kahlon were also present.
