Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal presiding over a meeting regarding setting up of focal point at village Dhanansu, Ludhiana on Tuesday at Chandigarh.

Chandigarh, December 2, 2015: With a view to attract more entrepreneurs in the state Punjab government will setup ultra modern industrial estate in 300 acres at village Dhanansu in the vicinity of Ludhiana which in turn will provide alternative business activities to the existing units running in the residential areas thereby reducing pollution in the city.
Disclosing this in a meeting held here today to review the progress of this focal point Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal said this exclusive industrial zone would script a new chapter in furtherance of business progress of industrial city of Ludhiana as it is being setup on the vital Amritsar-Kolkata industrial corridor.
He informed that Dhanansu village would be developed as a model village having all basic amenities including a bye-pass for better access with the national highway, adding he said a solar power plant would also be setup for uninterrupted power supply to the residents. Mr Badal also directed the industry and PWD departments to initiate the process of widening and strengthening of existing connecting roads to the village.
Deputy CM also decided to convene a high level meeting with concerned ministers and senior officers in the next week to chalk out a first of its kind "rural development policy" to build up the villages as clean and green modern villages which would opt for developing their panchayats lands into focal points for agri related business entrepreneurs.
Mr Badal also reviewed the progress of Rajpura focal point which is being setup at 200 acres near the NH-1 and on Amritsar-Kolkata industrial corridor rail link. He further said Punjab would develop more industrial focal points along with the national railway corridor to boost the investments in the state.
Among others present in the meeting included industry minister Madan Mohan Mittal, rural development minister Sikandar Siingh Malooka, additional chief secretary NS Kalsi, secretary investment promotion Anirudh Tewari, secretary industry SR Ladhar and MD PSIEC Amit Dhaka and DC Ludhiana Rajat Aggarwal.
