PU VC meets Dignitaries

Chandigarh, October 17, 2018: Panjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof.Raj Kumar, on his recent visit to New Delhi met Sh.M.Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India and Chancellor of PU and apprised him about Centenary Year of Honours School System falling in the year 2019 which was started in the year 1919 at Lahore, and is also the birth centenary of Prof.R.C.Paul, who remained the VC of PU for 10 years from 1974-84. The Chancellor said that the Centenary celebrations should be organized in a big way at PU Campus.
PU VC also met Sh.Rajnath Singh, the Home Minister of India with regards to establishment of Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence Centre. He assured of all help to PU in this regard and said that PU having a great pool of Scientists from all fields and urged PU to work towards achieving this goal.
PU VC also met Mr.Amitabh Kant, CEO of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog and informed him that PU is making all concerted efforts for the growth of PU. He assured of all possible help to PU and asked VC to submit proposals. He also assured of visiting PU in near future.
PU VC also met Sh. R.K. Singh, Minister of State in the Government of India and discussed issues related to Solar Energy, Wind Energy and Renewable Sources. He assured of all help and asked to submit the projects relating to above.
PU VC also met Sh. Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and discussed about Nuclear Medicine and Advanced Research in Cancer to reach out to the society. He urged to encourage the Researchers for working on the project and assured of all help.
