PU VC gives suggestions to optimise  alumni relations
Chandigarh, 24 June 2019: The Vice chancellor of Panjab University, Prof.Raj Kumar presided over the Annual Awards function and the Alumni General Body Meeting here today. In his address, he gave many suggestions to optimise alumni relations and expressed his wish to conduct an international alumni meeting in the future, that will increase the relations with alumni which have settled abroad.He further added that it's a matter of great pride for PU to see various achievements of alumni. He also expressed his concern about the current education system and promised to do his bit to improve the current situation. The Vice-Chancellor was presented with an honorary alumni membership by Dean, Alumni Relations - Prof Deepti Gupta who announced that the PUAA will organise its Annual Global Meet on November 29,2019. Dean University Instruction - Prof Shankarji Jha and Vice-President, PUAA, Mr S.C.Kohli addressed the gathering with motivational words. PUAA awarded 53 toppers of various departments and colleges of Panjab University, for the current academic session. Scholarships and stipends were also awarded to the students. Mr O. P. Sharma, senior advocate Chief Guest gifted his entire collection of around 400 rare books to the University. Professor Emeritus in Ancient History, Prof. Kamlesh Mohan announced an Endowment Fund in the memory of her father, Janab Kashmiri Lal Zakir. Since he was a multilingual author, the fund will sponsor one expert lecture in any language every year. Mrs Santosh and Mr S. C. Pandhi, two very senior alumni also attended the event.
