PU invites applications for admission in B.Ed.in PU affiliated colleges located in Chandigarh UT

Chandigarh July 12, 2016: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has invited applications for admission in B.Ed.in the PU affiliated colleges located in Chandigarh Union Territory. The applications have been invited for the courses of B.Ed. (General), B.Ed. (Yoga) and B.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) for the session 2016-2018.
Online application forms and counseling schedule for the same are available at website http://bedadmissions.puchd.ac.in. The Fee for the application form would be Rs. 1500/- with a relaxation of Rs. 750/- for SC/ST/Blind categories. B.Ed Prospectus is also available.
The candidates with at least 50 % marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto, would be eligible for admission to the programme. There would be a relaxation of 5% marks in favour of SC/ST/BC candidates. Candidate with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories would not be eligible.
Announcing the admission policy in Colleges of Union Territory, Chandigarh, PU Spokesman said that out of the total sanctioned intake of the institutions 60
percent seats would be filled up from amongst the Chandigarh UT students and 40 percent seats would be for General Pool, which would be filled from amongst the students who pass their qualifying examination from the recognized institutions other than those located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh or otherwise.
PU spokesperson informed that the students can submit their On-line registration up to July 25, 2016. The last date for deposit of fee in any branch of State Bank of India using website generated bank slip is July 26, 2016 up to 3.59 PM. The last date for u,ploading the photograph, signature with rest of the information would be uly 28, 2016. The tentative merit list would be displayed on July 29, 2016. The final provisional merit list would be displayed on the website on August 1, 2016
(evening). The 1st physical counselling for admission is likely to be held on August 3 & 4, 2016 at PU Law Auditorium.
