Chandigarh March 14, 2016: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has decided to provide medical entitlement booklets to PU students, mess workers and its contractual staff. The decision was taken today at the PU Syndicate meeting, which was presided over by the PU Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover.
The Syndicate meeting considered various pending items of previous Syndicate meeting of February 27 and tabled agenda.
The PU Syndicate approved the proposal of providing medical entitlement booklets, which would be issued to the students at the time of admission in their respective departments. The medical entitlement booklets would help in keeping the updated medical
records of student’s ailments etc. and improving the level of their health.
The Syndicate considered and approved the request of Dr Harvansh Singh Judge for an endowment of Rs. 10 lakh. The 50 percent of the interest earned from amount would be used for the intended purpose and 50 percent would be used for the growth of the fund.
Out of Rs. 10 lakh, Rs. 8 lakh would be used for organizing the annual Founder’s Day Colloquium Function and Rs. 2 lakh would be used for Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital Awards. The Dental Institute Founder’s Day Colloquium
function would be organized in the month of November every year.
The PU Syndicate approved the Guidelines for admission under reserved categories of Sports for MBA Program, MBA for Executive (MBAEX), M.Com Honours in UBS, UBS Ludhiana and in various teaching departments of PU Campus/PU Regional Centres for the session 2016-17.
The PU Syndicate also approved the revised regulations/rules for five year Integrated Programme (Honours School) in Social Sciences./ (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
