Chandigarh, May 31, 2016: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh is all set to host the prestigious PU Combined
Entrance Test (CET) (UG) Entrance Test which is to be organized on June 1 at PU and other centres of Chandigarh.
PU has issued certain important instructions for the candidates of PUCET (UG) Entrance Test. As many as 50 centers have been set up to conduct entrance examination for about 17 thousand candidates.
PU authorities today reviewed the preparations for the CET (UG) Entrance Test. PU Controller of Examinations, Prof Parvinder Singh reviewed the preparation for conducting the examination. He issued guidelines and directions for the smooth conduct of the examination.
PU has also announced the traffic routes for the PU Campus examinations centres, so that the candidates could enter from the appropriate gate and use the designated route only. The exercise has been carried out to avoid any rush/jam in the PU Campus, PU Spokesman informed.
PU Spokesman informed that the students appearing for CET UG entrance test at centres Chandigarh 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 15 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No- 1 adjoining the PGI gate. The students appearing at examination centres Chandigarh 7, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No-2 adjoining the Sector 15. The students appearing at centres Chandigarh 6, 8 and 9 should enter the campus from the PU Gate No-3 adjoining the Sector 25, Chandigarh. Four Examination centre i.e. Chandigarh 16, 17, 18 and 19 have been set up in Sector 25, those candidates should enter Sector 25 campus from Gate Opposite the Sector 14, Gate No.3. Other 31 Centres have been setup in various colleges of the Chandigarh City, which are outside the PU Campus, he further informed.
PU Spokesman informed that the students have been asked to reach their respective test centers atleast half one hour before the start of the test. No candidate reporting 15 minutes after the start of the test would be allowed to seat for the test. The Videography of all the candidates would be done at all the concerned Examination Centres of the Entrance Test. The candidates must bring their admit card with them, otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the test center.
The Candidates have been requested not to bring more accompanying persons along with them, so that there should not be great chaos or rush around the Exam Centres.
Parents are not allowed inside the Exam Centres. For their convenience they can only sit at the designated placed i.e. in the University Auditorium.
The candidates are also advised to bring their Admit Card issued by the University along with some Identity Proof. No candidate will be allowed to carry mobiles, electronic gadgets or any incriminating material inside the Exam Centre.
The candidates must bring only black ball/gel pens with them for answering the questions. The use of calculators will not be allowed. No candidate would be allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the expiry of the time allowed for the examination.
The candidates are not permitted to carry any telecommunication equipment such as mobile phone, pager, wireless set, cordless phone etc. inside the examination hall.
There will be negative marking i.e. 25 percents marks would be deducted for every wrong answer.
