Protest dharnas from 1 to 11 July infront of Thapar Hall, PAU by PAU Retirees' Association

Ludhiana, June 30, 2016: Since long time the PAU Retirees' Welfare Association is protesting for its legitimate demands. Inspite of so many letters, dharnas on April 9, May 10, June 11 and June 24, the PAU Authorities did not respond positively.
As per the decision of the General Body Meeting held on 11th June 2016 the Association will hold dharnas in front of Thapar Hall from 10:30 am on July 1, 4, 5, 7, 8 and July 11.
President Jila Ram Bansal, Chairman, DP Maur and General Secretary Satish Sood collectively requested all the pensioners and Pensioners' Associations to support the dharna, so that the payment of LTAs for July 2015, January and July 2016 is made at the earliest.
The other demands of the Association are Payment of pension on the first of every month, Payment of arrears of DA on the pattern of Punjab Government's Employees, Cashless medi-claim policy, LTA facility to the retirees who opted CPF, availability of medicines in the PAU Hospital atleast for the chronic patients, Facility of specialized Health Services on part time basis, Issuing of gate passes to the wards of the Pensioners for their vehicles, Building a Pension Bhawan and opening of an Ayurvedic Dispensary of Punjab Government.
Bansal clarified that if still the authorities do not concede our genuine demands then there is no alternative except to arrange rallies demonstration and dharnas in future also.
