Banking and Finance Congress organised at CGC Landran
Aiming to augment the knowledge of students about the latest trends and challenges in the Banking and Finance sectors, Chandigarh Business School of Administration (CBSA), CGC Landran organised a two-day Banking and Finance Congress which concluded today. The illustrious panel of keynote speakers who enlightened the audience included Dr. S.K. Dhameja, Dean- Academics & International Affairs- NITTTR, Mr. Vikas Sofat, VP & State Head – DCB Bank, Mr. Dinesh Seth Sr.V.P.-HDFC Bank, Mr. Jitendar Kumar, Chief Manager-SBI, Patiala, Mr. Rajneesh Sood, DVP Axis Bank, Mr. Amanjot Singh, AVP-Bandhan Bank, Mr. Jubin Mehta, AGM SEBI among others. They presented insights and updates on technological advancement being adopted and incorporated by the banking industry such as Artificial Intelligence, IoT, automation, digitization, blockchain, fintechs etc as well as the importance of acquiring people and resource management skills. They underscored the importance of continuous reinforcement of skills, both conceptual and practical, among management students, in order to enhance their employability by banking and finance companies. The event also saw 42 teams of students from CBSA, CGC Landran, giving presentations on topics including demonetization, Cryptocurrency, Digitization in the banking sector, etc., showcasing their understanding of the concepts and their socio economic impact as well as solutions to addressing challenges emanating out of the same. The top three presenting teams were felicitated with medals and certificates by the eminent panel. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran congratulated the faculty and students for successful conduct of the event. They further said that such interactions not only helped bridge the gap between industry and academia, but also provided students with a great opportunity to interact with and learn from industry stalwarts thereby getting inspired to keep working hard and keep polishing their subject proficiencies in line with the latest market requirements.
