Priyanka Marwaha of HMV gets best speaker award at National Youth Parliament Pune

Jalandhar, January 24, 2018: Km.Priyanka Marwaha of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya got the best speaker award at National Youth Parliament, Pune. 22 student speakers were selected from all over India and participating foreign countries after two rounds. In the first round, the students sent their videos and in the second round they made presentations to the selection panel at MIT Pune. Priyanka Marwaha had spoken on the topic Casteism in India Democracy: Problems and Prospects’. There were 6 categories and in her category she competed with 65 selected candidates and got the position of first speaker. She had the honour of addressing more than 5000 participants from across the country and the world. She had a special honour of interacting with the best of the best in India polity. Priyanka Marwaha describes it as a once in a lifetime experience and is filled with gratitude towards her mentors and Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen for not only inspiring and motivating but also supporting her to participate in the event. The valedictory function was presided over by Chief Minister of Orissa, Mr. Naveen Patraik, Hon’ble Former President Mrs. Pratibha Patil, Senior Politician, Mr. Murli Manohar Joshi and Mr. Karad.
Priyanka was accompanied by NSS Programme Officer Mrs. Veena Arora and Navjot Kaur, who also participated actively in National Youth Parliament. Ms. Priyanka is Secretary Debating Society and Secretary Literary Society of HMV.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen encouraged the students to participate more actively in such activities. Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Dean Innovative Practices, Incharge Literary Society and Debating Society thanked Principal Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen for her constant support to students to achieve their goals. On this occasion, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda, NSS Programme Officer, Mrs. Veena Arora and Dr. Anjana Bhatia were also present.
