Prakash Javadekar lays foundation stones of CUHP at Dehra and Dharamshala
Dharamshala, February 21, 2019: Union Human Resource Development Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar laid the foundation stone of the complex number II of Central University of Himachal at Dehra in Kangra District in the morning of Thursday .After lying the stone Shri Prakash Javadekar said, “Today I laid the foundation of the "Central University" Dehara Complex in Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh, by which thousands of youth of Himachal Pradesh will be benefited.” Prakash Javadekar said that the forest clearance for construction of this University was also accorded when he was the Union Forest and Environment Minister. He said that this University would open new vistas of development in the area besides providing quality higher education to the youth of the area. He said that the Union Government would provide all possible help to ensure that the University Campus would completed soon. Union Human Resource Minister said that the Centre has sanctioned several nation institutions in the State. He said that IIIT has been sanctioned for Una and IIT for Mandi. He said that Cluster University has also been sanctioned for Mandi district. He said that in addition to this, several Central Schools have also been sanctioned for the State. He said that the Union Government was committed to provide digital boards in the schools in a phased manner in about nine lakh schools of the country. At this moment CM Himachal Jai Ram Thakur, MP Hamir pur Anuraag Thakur and other dignitaries were present . Union Human Resource Development Minister. Shri Prakash Javadekar lay another foundation stone of Central University for the Comlex number I at Dharamshala in the evening. He addressed the public at both the sites . CM Thakur said in Dehra that with the introduction of Central University in Himachal Pradesh, the development of the region will be strengthened. Central University of Himachal Pradesh is Central University headquartered from Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is operating from a temporary campus at Shahpur, Kangra district due to pending the construction of two permanent campuses, at Dehra and Dharamsala. The university was founded in 2009 as a result of the government's policy to establish Central Universities in each of the states that do not already have a central university .The Central University of Himachal Pradesh is established under the Central Universities Act 2009 enacted by the Parliament.
