Rohtak, April 21, 2026: Public Relations should not be confined merely to the dissemination of information; rather, it must be linked with public concerns to serve as a medium for the welfare of society. These views were expressed by Sunit Mukherjee, a Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at MDU. He was addressing the students as the keynote speaker at a dialogue session organized on National Public Relations Day by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the AIJHM College, Rohtak.

Eminent PR Guru, Sunit Mukherjee said that Public Relations is a strategic communication process through which initiatives related to social concerns, community upliftment, public welfare, and nation-building can be effectively advanced. He also called for integrating issues such as environmental awareness, social harmony, gender sensitivity, and the positive participation of youth into the realm of Public Relations.

While inspiring the students, Sunit Mukherjee cited the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, and Sir Chhotu Ram, emphasizing the need to grasp the true objective of Public Relations. Discussing career prospects, he offered the '4 Ps' mantra: Passion for PR, Purposeful Communication, Persistent Efforts, and a Persuasive Touch. Additionally, he advised the students to cultivate a positive mindset and demeanor. He concluded his lecture with a spirited recitation of poetry.
