Ferozepur, October 17, 2015: Two Day super sixes Cricket Tournament PPL (Poly Wing Premier League) and Diwali Fete were jointly organised successfully by Achiever’s Society of ECE Department and ACES Society of Computer Engineering Department came to an end with glittering prize distribution ceremony.
 
Dr .T. S. Sidhu, Campus Director and Prof Gazal Preet Arneja, Dean Sports and Cultural Affairs inaugurated Diwali fete also. Total 13 stalls were erected during this fete. Many stalls like eatables, puzzles, Ice Cream parlour, Tambola and Games were main attraction of students and outside guests throughout the day.
 
Music DJ on demand Stall was great crowd puller, and students from the entire campus danced to their favourite songs throughout the day. Even faculty of SBS Campus joined students in Diwali fete celebrations. Mr Chetan Batra, Lecturer Computer Engineering and Mr Karamjeet Singh, Lecturer in ECE managed the DJ stall. Prof Gurjeevan Singh (Chairperson–Achievers Society) and Madam Anuradha Rani (Chairperson-ACES Society) thanked all guests for making the fete great success.
 
In PPL-20, Vehli Janta team from boys won the overall trophy in which 32 teams competed with each other. They defeated the MECHANICAL WARRIOR’S of final year Mechanical by 25 runs. The captain of winner team was Akashdeep Singh from third year ECE of Polytechnic Wing. He was adjudged Man of the Tournament.
 
Champion Girls Team from girls category won the Champion’s trophy by defeating CSE Queens team by 4 wickets. The captain of winner team was Manpreet Kaur from final year ECE. She was also awarded with Man of the Match award the Final Match.
 
On the persistent demand of students, friendly match were also played among faculty of the SBS Campus. The team led by Prof. Rajesh Singla defeated the opponent team captained by Prof Rahul Chopra by twenty four runs.
 
In the surprise item for kids, one match entitled “Little Champions of SBS Campus”, was also organised among kids of SBS Staff members. SBS Daredevils Team won the match by 4 wickets by defeating Super Star team. Captain of SBS Daredevils Team was Kanwardeep Singh of 6th Class Convent School. He was also adjusded Man of the Match in Little Champions Match,
 
Dr T S Sidhu, Campus Director; Prof Gazal Preet Arneja, Dean Sports and Culture Affairs and Dr V S Bhullar, DPE congratulated both the boys and girls teams. He praised the efforts of Prof Gurjeevan Singh, Chairperson of ACHIEVER’S Society and Madam Anuradha, Chairperson of ACES team. He specially congratulated Rahul Kumar Chobey (Second Year ECE); Manpreet Kaur (Third Year ECE); Manthan Bajaj and Gagandeep Kaur (both from Second year Computer Engineering), the society presidents of both societies. He pinned hope that the Achievers and ACES society will keep on organising such events successfully in future also. Finally, Champions Trophy was given to both the winning teams of boys and girls. Medals and trophies were also given to faculty and student organisers of the event.
