Chandigarh, June 13, 2015: As many as 10,249 candidates from different parts of the country today appeared for Combined Entrance Test (CET) of 22 Post Graduate courses at Panjab University (PU).
More than 17,000 candidates would be appearing for various sought after job oriented Post Graduate Courses at the University in the two day long CET(PG) entrance examinations for 45 PG courses, that would conclude on June 14.
PU Controller of Examination Prof Parvinder Singh informed that 89.21 percent students appeared in 15 entrance examinations today.
As many as 2618 students out of 2894 appeared for M.Sc. (Chemistry) (Hons. School/2 Yr.Course). PU Campus has 15 seats in M.Sc. (Chemistry) where as the affiliated colleges at Chandigarh, Ludhiana and various other places in Punjab have 380 M.Sc. (Chemistry) seats.
As many as 2470 students out of 2735 appeared for M.Sc. (Hons. School) Physics / Physics & Electronics/Medical Physics. PU Campus has 40, 20 and 8 seats in M.Sc. (Hons. School) Physics / Physics & Electronics/Medical Physics respectively.
As many as 636 out of 686 appeared for M.Com (Hons), 19 out of 27 appeared for M.Sc.(Hons. School) (Geology), 361 out of 408 appeared for M.Sc. (2 Yr. Course) Microbial Biotechnology, 116 out of 140 appeared for M.E. (Electronics & Communication Engg.), 290 out of 345 appeared for M.A. (Journalism and Mass Communication), 968 out of 1063 appeared for M.Sc. (Botany) (Hons. School / 2 Yr Course), 32 out of 44 appeared for MBACIT, 43 out of 56 appeared for M.E. (Mechanical Engg.) (Manufacturing Technology), 167 out of 196 appeared for Masters in Public Health, 1041 students out of 1138 appeared for M.C.A., 780 out of 947 appeared for M.Sc. (Zoology) (Hons. School / 2 Yr Course), 37 out of 46 appeared for (M.E. Electrical Engg.) (Instrumentation & Control), 133 out of 144 appeared for B.P.Ed., 183 out of 213 appeared for M.B.E., 64 out of 77 appeared for M.Sc. (System Biology and Bioinformatics) / M.Sc. (Bioinformatics) (2 Yr. Course), 254 out of 279 appeared for M.A. in Geography and 37 out of 51 appeared for M.E. (Food Technology).
