Police nabs accused behind acid attack within 48 hours

Ferozepur, February 21, 2018: Acting vigorously police has nabbed the accused who had thrown the acid on a 14 years old school boy, within 48 hours. The accused has been identified as Nitish Sehgal (26) alias Nikhil, resident of Ferozepur city area. Pritam Singh, SSP, Ferozepur while giving information said that the police had started a hunt to nab accused after the incident. “After checking the CCTV footage, the accused was identified following which a manhunt was launched. During interrogation, the accused admitted his crime. He also admitted that he threw the acid on child due to some personal enmity”, said SSP.

It is pertinent to mention here that the minor student was attacked with acid by an unidentified masked man due to which he received injuries on his face, eyes, chest and left arm following which he was admitted in a local hospital. A case under Sections 326-A, 323 of the IPC was registered at City Police Station
