Police announces Rs.10 lakh reward for person giving information about killers of Mata Chand Kaur

Ludhiana, April 7, 2016: Police have announced a reward of Rs.10 lakh to a person giving information about the accused involved into the brutal killing of Mata Chand Kaur, wife of Late Satgur Jagjit Singh of Namdhari Darbar.

Mata Chand Kaur was killed by unidentified motorcyclists at Bhaini Sahib in this district on Monday.

Mr Jatinder Singh Aulakh, Police Commissioner, Ludhiana and Mr Dhruman Nimbale, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, in a press release today, said that a reward of Rs.10 lakh would be given by DGP Punjab to a person giving information with regard to the murder case of Mata Chand Kaur to the Police Administration.

They further told that the name and address of the informer would be kept secret.

They added that the information could be given on the following contacts numbers; Shri Dhruman Nimbale, IPS, DCP, Ludhiana – 7837018502/Shri Satvir Singh Atwal, PPS, ADCP-4, Ludhiana- 9815900016, 9815900001.

They told that a case under Sections 302, 34 IPC and 25/27-54-59 of the Arms Act was registered at Police Station Koomkalan against unknown accused on April 4, 2016.

It may be mentioned here that Ludhiana Police Commissionerate had already released sketches of the suspects involved into the brutal killing of Mata Chand Kaur.

The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr.Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday had also ordered the setting up of Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of ADGP-cum-Director, Bureau of Investigation Mr.IPS Sahota to probe into the circumstances leading to her death.
