Ludhiana, January 25, 2018: On the advent of Republic Day, PCTE Institute of Hotel Management organized Zaika Akhand Bharat - Ek Prayaas in which 29 teams of hotel management & tourism students prepared authentic cuisine of 29 states, having a count of 129 Indian dishes along with the beverages in merely 129 minutes, this is an attempt made for an entry in Limca Book of Records.

Dishes like fish cooked in bamboo in pitfire from Nagaland, mutton roganjosh from Kashmir, sarso ka saag from Punjab, dal bati churma from rajasthan, mutton galouti kabab from uttar Pradesh, dhokla and undhiyu from gujrat etc were prepared by the hospitality students, coming from different religion, caste, culture, states and countries as well. The students came together to make the age old specialty and signature dishes of various states.

Mr. Gushminder Singh, Ms. Radhika Jain and Ms. Rachna Jain were the honorable Judges for the day, whereby they were amazed to see the dedication of the students in preparing the dishes.

Mr. Anirban Gupta, Dean, PCTE-IHM said that India is considered to be a nation which is known for its diverse culture. He added that the entire occasions based on showcasing the diverse culture of the country, and that the students have made a lot of efforts in preparing the dishes which represent each state.

Dr K.N.S.Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated and the entire team of hotel management and tourism department on successfully organizing the entire event. He appreciated the efforts of the students and further added that it is important for our youth to know about cuisine, culture and heritage of such a diverse country like India
