The Panjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover on Friday releases the PU calendar for the year 2016.
Chandigarh, January 1, 2016: Panjab University (PU) Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover today released the PU calendar for the year 2016.
Prof Grover released the calendar at a function, which was organized by PU Non-Teaching Employees Federation (PUNTEF) to welcome the New Year.
PU Registrar Col. G.S. Chadha (Retd.), Controller of Examinations Prof. Parvinder Singh, Finance & Development Officer Mr. Vikram Nayyar, Dean Students Welfare Prof Navdeep Goyal, Dean College and Development Council Prof Naval Kishore, Secretary to Vice Chancellor Dr. (Col.) P.S. Sandhu, Director Public Relation Mr. Vineet Punia, PUNTEF President Mr. Deepak Kaushik, Manager Printing Press Mr. Jatinder Moudgil, PUNTEF office bearers and large number of employees participated in the function organized at the front gate of Administrative Block.
Addressing the employees, Prof Grover said that the year 2016 would be celebrated as the Balwant Gargi centenary year. In background of that, the iconic contributions of the alumni of the University in the fields of performing arts, arts, humanities, literature and others areas would be recalled and celebrated in the same way as the University had done earlier while commemorating the 150 years of birth anniversary of Ruchi Ram Sahni and 150 years of higher education in India, Prof Grover added. During the birth centenary celebrations of Balwant Gargi, the University would recall & bring focus on the contributions of icons like Bhisham Sahni, Khuswant Singh, Mulk Raj Anand, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, he further added.
Prof Grover conveyed the Good Wishes to the employees for the coming year and motivated the employees to work hard for the University.
PU Registrar Col. G.S. Chadha (Retd.) & Controller of Examinations Prof. Parvinder Singh, office bearers of the Federation including PUNTEF President Mr. Deepak Kaushik, Deputy Registrar Mr. Devinder Marwaha and Assistant Registrar Dharmpal Sharma also addressed the gathering. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
