One more gun dealer booked for illegal trading of firearms

Ferozepur, March 16, 2015: Just one day after the Ferozepur police had booked a DC office clerk and three arms dealers in fake firearms license issue, the Guruharshai police achieved another major success and has nabbed one person, who was allegedly involved in the trading of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and was working as the manager of a gun house at Guruharsahai.  The police has also booked Harbhajan Lal, the owner of the Gun House who is eluding police till now.
The detained person has been identified as Arvinder Singh, a resident of Basti Mohar Singh Wali, Jalalabad, Fazilka. Mohinder Singh, SI, Guruharsahai Police Station said that the police had received the inputs that Arvinder and Harbjahan were allegedly involved in illegal selling of firearms and ammunition, which they used to get from other states. The SI said that the Harbhajan Lal was running a gun house at Mandi Guruharsahai and has license to sell .12 bore gun and to sell and purchase ammunition. But defying odds to the authorities, he was selling .32 bore and .315 bore arms ammunition. The police had also received information that his son Kapil Dev has already been booked by Punjab and Haryana police under several firearms cases.
The SI said that Arvinder Singh, who was working as the manager (without authority) at the gun house of Harbhajan Lal, was also allegedly involved in the alleged illegal trading of firearms. The police performed a raid at the shop and nabbed the manager Arvinder Singh. Harbhajan Lal, however managed to escape. The police officials nabbed Arvinder Singh with 287 rounds (250 round .32 bore revolver, 17 round .32 bore pistol, 20 round 315 bore) and 4 pistol magazines (.32 bore).  The SI said that police has booked the both miscreants under sections 25/54/59 Arms Act and the investigation is under process.
It is pertinent to mention here that just one day ago the Ferozepur police had booked one DC Office clerk identified as Manoj Kumar along with three arms dealers named Rakesh Chander (Nanda Gun House), Shavinder Vohra (Vohra Gun House) and Anil Sethi  (Abohar Armoury).
