Ferozepur, April 21, 2016: The vigilant troops of BSF belonging to 105 Battalion have successfully recovered one packet of heroin worth Rs.5 Crores near border out post (BoP) Barreke in Ferozepur sector.
While giving details, R.K.Thapa, DIG, Ferozepur sector said that following the inputs, a special search operation was carried out by the BSF troops at BOP Barreke, yesterday evening. The DIG said that during the search operation one kg heroin worth Rs.5 crore was recovered. The DIG said that the consignment was buried in the fields near international border.
It is pertinent to mention here that on April 14, during a joint operation by officials from Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and BSF, 31 packet of heroin worth Rs.150 Crore were recovered and two Indian smugglers were arrested.
