Ludhiana, September 9, 2016: Municipal Corporation Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori made a visit to the sites where various development works are being taken place. On Friday morning he visited sites in the ward number 20 Rahon road and Bus stand flyover along with officials and area councillors.
First of all he checked the recently constructed road in ward number 20 on the request of area councillor Monica Jaggi. The councillor complained that poor quality material was used in construction of this road. And after checking Commissioner found the complaint right therefore he ordered dismantling of the road. The top layer of the road would be dismantled and it will be constructed again.
Then he moved towards Rahon Road where 100 meters of newly constructed road portion had got damaged due to sewerage blockage. Thori made directions to the officials present there to redress the problem. The officials have been told to check sewer blockage and then reconstruct the road. The officials have been given two weeks time to redress this problem.
Meanwhile, he also inspected the ongoing beautification of Jalandhar Byepass Chowk and Sherpur Chowk where structures are to be installed for beautifying the entry points of city. The pace of work was satisfactory and it is expected work would get completed by mid October.
Thori also checked the flyovers of Bus Stand and Dholewal Chowk flyover. The officials have been directed to repair the cemented flower pots on these two flyovers and then get them painted.
He said that he visited the locations where works are going on and in ward number 20 quality of work was not up to the mark so it would be reconstructed. He told that he has given clear instructions to the officials to keep quality in mind so that there should be no complaint regarding that particular work.
