Vice Chancellor inaugurates North India’s first technology equipped modern resource centre
Jalandhar, June 9, 2017: with an aim to provide the best facilities to students in the campus, I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University today, opened its Multi-Functional Knowledge Resource Centre. This Centre was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Kahan Singh Pannu. University established this centre by investing of Rs.20 crores on its modern infrastructure. The Knowledge Resources Centre has facility of retro references, 20,000 books and modern way of study through thousands of E-Journals, 10,000+ PhD & M. Tech theses.

After formal inaugural ceremony Vice Chancellor stated that the University has taken a unique initiative in establishing this kind of world class infrastructure at University’s main campus in the interest of quality education.

Sharing the strength of this resource centre, University spokesperson said that Knowledge Centre is a three storied building, which is having 63,500 square feet covered area with a modern cafeteria and open air theatre. He defined that University is providing audio-video recording and listing study cum studio facility, rare books counter, conference room, special study area for research scholars. He said that Knowledge Centre will prove its worth as North India’s first modern equipped resource centre near future. Further he told that a separate cell for books of literature in Punjabi, Hindi and English propose to be set up in the University.
