Bhoranj received 145 mm of rain during last 24 hours Dharamshala, August 6, 2018: Monsoon is intensively active for the past three days in the entire state of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rain in the last 24 hours triggered landslides in several places across Himachal Pradesh. Shimla-Theog highway was closed after a 50-m road stretch was damaged due to a landslide and many other connecting roads in the state were reported closed after being damaged by landslides. Monsoon was active over the state during last 24 hours. Light to heavy Rainfall occurred at most places over the state with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the districts of Hamirpur and heavy rainfall in the districts of Mandi, Sirmaur, Kangra, Una & Hamirpur. There was no appreciable change in Minimum temperatures & Maximum temperatures decreased by 1-2°C during last 24 hrs and Minimum temperatures were normal and Maximum temperatures were 1-2°C below normal. Today the Lowest temperature recorded at Mashobra = 13.4 oC and yesterday’s Highest temperature recorded at Una = 32.6°C. Bhoranj received 145 mm of rain during last 24 hours followed by Mehre-92, Gohar & Paonta sahib-76 each, Dharamshala-71, Dehra Gopipur-68, Amb & Sarkaghat-65 each, Jogindernagar-60, Una-58, Bangana-57, Berthin-53, Sujanpur Tira-52, Jhandutta-47, Bharari, Bharwain, Nagrota Suriyan-45 each, Sundernagar44, Hamirpur & Baijnath-42 each, Naina Devi-41, Ghamroor-40, Palampur-37, Arki-36, Agar & Gaggal-35 mm each. Meteorological department said that owing to continuous rain, the River Beas is flowing above danger mark and it will rise further as Heavy rainfall is predicted in several places in the state, including Kangra , Chamba and Hamirpur districts,in coming days of this week.
