RESIDENTS WOULD BE EDUCATED ABOUT TRAFFIC RULES

Ludhiana, February 4, 2019: The Ludhiana (Rural) Police has started 30th National Road Safety Week under the slogan “Sadak Surakhya Jeevan Rakhya” from today onwards and would continue till February 10, 2019. This week was started under the leadership of Ludhiana (Rural) SSP Mr Varinder Singh Brar.

While addressing the gathering at Truck Union Jagraon, SSP Mr Brar urged all the drivers to always use seat belt while driving their vehicles and helmets while driving two wheelers. He said that during this 30th National Road Safety Week, ASI Sukhdev Singh from Traffic Education Cell would educate the residents about road safety rules. Besides, reflectors would also be installed on trollies, bicycles and other vehicles, doctors would check eyesight of drivers, besides several other such activities.

Mr Brar further informed that the fitness checking of vehicles would be done by experts and efforts would be made for the success of Mission Tandrust Punjab of the state government.

On this occasion, he appealed to the owners of tractor-trollies that they should ensure that reflectors are installed on their vehicles. He said that 30th National Road Safety Week is being organised so that people are educated about traffic rules and there should be a decrease in road accidents.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Inspector Jaspal Singh, ASI Nidhan Singh, Head Constable Satinderpal Singh, besides several others.
