MDU Pays Floral Tribute on Shaheedi Diwas; VC Calls Upon Youth to Follow Ideals of Martyrs

Rohtak, March 23, 2026: MDU solemnly observed Shaheedi Diwas with a floral tribute ceremony organized at the Students’ Activity Centre, commemorating the supreme sacrifice of the nation’s great martyrs.
The programme commenced with floral tributes at the Shaheedi Smarak located at Gate No. 1 of the university campus. Subsequently, tributes were paid to the portraits of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev at the Students’ Activity Centre, creating a deeply patriotic and respectful atmosphere.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva, while paying homage, said that the sacrifices of the martyrs form the foundation of the nation’s freedom. He urged the youth to imbibe the values of courage, dedication, and patriotism, and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.
Dean Academic Affairs Prof. S. C. Malik remarked that Shaheedi Diwas is not only a day of remembrance but also an occasion for introspection. Registrar Dr. Krishan Kant emphasized that the sacrifices of the martyrs are invaluable and should never be forgotten.
The event was coordinated by Dean Students’ Welfare Prof. Sapna Garg, Deputy DSW Prof. Sonu, and Director Youth Welfare Dr. Partap Rathee.
