SUPVA’s ‘Two Shores’ to be screened at Toronto film festival
Short film ‘Two Shores’, produced by the Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), will be screened at the 15th International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA), Toronto, on October 13.
Rohtak, October 5, 2026: Short film ‘Two Shores’, produced by the Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), will be screened at the 15th International Film Festival of South Asia (IFFSA), Toronto, on October 13.
The festival, which is being held from October 8 to 18, is regarded as one of the largest South Asian film festivals.
FC Mahesh TP, Faculty of Film and Television, said the film was written and directed by Gautam Chaudhary, a seventh-semester Acting student, as part of his course. The film explores the struggles of a poor farming family and the aspirations of youngsters seeking to move abroad. It highlights the human cost of illegal migration driven by the desire to earn in dollars.
The film features SUPVA students Gautam Chaudhary, Mitali, Deepti Ahlawat, Krishna Malik and Lakshya Saini, among others. Harshit Dhal is the director of photography, Sukh Bawa the production designer, Yash Chopra the editor, Ravi Madina the location sound recordist and Gautam Bainiwal the sound designer.
SUPVA Vice-Chancellor Dr Amit Arya said the selection of a student-produced film for an international festival was a matter of pride for the university. He said the achievement reflected the quality of resources and training available to students for producing films and documentaries on professional lines.
