Maluka suspends SDO Sangrur for financial irregularities

Chandigarh, June 20, 2014: The Rural Development and Panchayat Minister of Punjab Sikander Singh Maluka today ordered the suspension of the Sub-Divisional Officer Ranjit Singh posted at Sangrur who also holds the charge of Executive Engineer with immediate effect for alleged financial irregularities in the utilisation of grants. His headquarter during suspension has been fixed at Chandigarh.
Taking a serious note of complaints received against Ranjit Singh, the Minister has also ordered an inquiry against Ranjit Singh by the 2 member inquiry committee comprising Senior Executive Engineers.
However, the Minister has also said that there would be zero tolerance for corrupt practices in the department and all officials should use the grants in an honest and transparent manner strictly according to the terms and conditions of the Punjab Government.
