Ludhiana News/Police arrest 1, recover Rs.40 lakh heroin

Ludhiana, December 13, 2013: Anti-Narcotics Cell, Ludhiana has arrested Surinder Singh Chhinda, a resident of Valtoha (Tarn Taran) under the NDPS Act.
Police have recovered 80 grams of heroin from his possession.
The value of the seized consignment is stated to be worth Rs.40 lakh in the International market, said the police today.
Presently, the accused resided in the Kishor Nagar locality, on Tajpur road here.
Police said the accused had been an employee (conductor) of Punjab Roadways. However, the accused was placed under suspension following which he got unemployed and allegedly got himself indulged into illegal trade of narcotics. He had been indulging into this illegal trade for the last about an year.
A case under the NDPS Act had been registered against the accused at police Division No.7 here.
