Ludhiana, September 21, 2015: All those who tried to file online property tax returns today were surprised to find that they were unable to login their user ID on the website of Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana (MCL).
Whenever a user tried to login his ID on the website of MCL, he observed that the website was showing “Online payment service will be available after 5 PM”.
Speaking to City Air News today, the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal secretary Mr Mohinder Aggarwal told that being a traders’ leader a lot of traders used to visit him daily seeking help for filing online property tax returns.
He told that all those who visited him today were unable to file online property return as they were unable to login their IDs. Whenever they tried to login their IDs the MCL website was showing “Online payment service will be available after 5 PM”, which was just a mockery. He said it was not possible to get challan deposited after 5 PM either in bank or the MCL office. He said those willing to file online returns today were getting extremely frustrated.
Mr Aggarwal pointed out that these were the peak days of filing online returns because September 30 was the last date. He, therefore, urged upon the MCL authorities to extend last date of filing of property tax return for next fifteen days after September 30, in the larger public interest.
