Punjab invites recommendations for awards to be conferred on Independence Day 2015

Chandigarh, March 9, 2015: The Punjab Government has invited recommendations from Deputy Commissioners, Divisional Commissioner and Secretary Punjab Vidhan Sabha  for the awards in various categories to be conferred on the occasion of state level function on Independence Day 2015.

Disclosing this, an official spokesperson of the general administration department said that in total 40 awards would be conferred to the persons who had done commendable work in social service, art a culture and literature science and technology. One award would be conferred to a person for bravery . He said that   the awardees would be honoured with a gold plated silver medal, shawl and citation.

He said that a special bravery award would be conferred to a person who had shown exemplary courage to counter  the menace of  terrorism. He said that for this category Rs. 50000 would also be given to the awardees whereas for other kind of bravery RS.25000 would be given. He said that for the awardees of other category other than bravery cash price of Rs.11000 would be given .He said that the department have been  asked to send recommendation duly supported by a brief note on the life of the person ,his bio-data and his achievement .Ten copies per recommendation are to submitted.
