LUDHIANA, MAY 5, 2018: Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Saturday inaugurated the road re-carpeting and strengthening projects worth Rs 1.32 crore in two localities of the city.

The cabinet minister claimed he is committed to developing best infrastructure in Ludhiana which is a major industrial and business hub for the state.

Disclosing about upcoming development projects for the city during a function near Lodhi road, Ashu stated that a smart school would be built in Sunet locality and work on Pakhowal Road Rail over-bridge (ROB) would start soon as he has recently held talks with railway officials who informed the tenders of ROB's construction would be floated next week.

He said that as the residents have been demanding ROB for a long time as a solution to their traffic woes here and his government is committed to complete the project in a time-bound manner.

He Inaugurated the start of road re-carpeting and strengthening of Lodhi Club road T-point at the cost of Rs 80 lakh and re-carpeting of roads in D-Block of BRS Nagar worth Rs 52 lakh.

On the occasion, councillors of the concerned localities have also accompanied the minister.
