LOK SABHA ELECTIONS 2019: ON OCCASION OF WORLD LABOUR DAY, DISTRICT LEVEL VOTER AWARENESS FUNCTION AT GISAPURA PARK ON MAY 1
Ludhiana, April 30, 2019: In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 elections, the district administration would be organising a district level Voter Awareness function in the all Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the district on May 1. The main aim of this function would be a part of the SVEEP activities and would aim to make people aware about getting registered as voters and importance of voting. On the occasion of World Labour Day, awareness functions regarding EVM/VVPAT machines as well as election related activities would be organised in all Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the district on May 1 from 8 am to 9 am. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Jagraon)-cum-Nodal Officer SVEEP activities Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta informed that for educating the labourers about voting, a district level awareness function would be organised at Giaspura Park at 8 am onwards on May 1. Similarly, such functions would also be organised in labour sheds or labour chowks located in other Vidhan Sabha constituencies on the same day. She informed that during these functions, the labourers would be educated about various aspects of voting, besides the Election Commission of India has also kept a provision of special leave for exercising their right to vote for them. That is why, they should must cast their vote. Mrs Gupta has urged all other nodal officers of all Vidhan Sabha constituencies to work hard to ensure maximum poll percentage in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
