2.9 KG HEROIN BESIDES ARMS AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED BY BSF

Ferozepur, January 28, 2019: The Sleuths belonging to 29 battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) today seized six packets of Heroin weighing 2.9 Kg worth Rs.15 crores in the international market during the search operation near Border Out Post (BOP) Gattihayat in Ferozepur Sector.Besides one pistol (7.63 mm, Pakistan made), 1 magazine and 5 rounds were also recovered.

Giving details, Sandeep Channan, DIG BSF, Ferozepur Sector said that the BSF jawan deputed near the Border Out Post (BOP) Gatti Hayat heard some suspicious sound of some Pakistani smugglers. He said that the BSF troops challenged to stop them and opened fire on them. “However, the smugglers managed to escape taking advantage of fog and undulating ground. Later, a search operation was carried out

during which six packets of Heroin weighing 2.9 Kg, one pistol (7.63 mm, Pakistan made), 1 magazine and 5 rounds were recovered”, said DIG BSF.

It is pertinent to mention here that during this month, 12.78 Kg heroin have been recovered by BSF jawans alongside the Punjab border.
