A Lecture on "Relevance of Janamsakhi Literature in Modern Times" being held at GNDU, Amritsar.

Amritsar, March 26, 2015  A Lecture on "Relevance of Janamsakhi Literature in Modern Times" was organised by Department of Guru Nanak Studies of Guru Nanak Dev University in collaboration with Principal Sardar Iqbal Singh Memorial Trust, Patiala.

Harpal Singh Pannu, Former Head, Department of Religious Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala was the Key Speaker. He stressed on the need to understand and reinterpret the different perspectives of Janamsakhi Literature to find the solution of present day problems. He said this literature is valuable for understanding the intricate issues of life. In his presidential address, Prof. Gulzar Singh Kang, Director Centre on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies said that along with the historical approach to the study of Janamsakhi Literature, it is most essential to analyse the literary and religious aspects of this literature to find directions for harmonious and peaceful living.  Dr. Manvinder Singh, Assistant Professor, welcomed the guests and Professor Shashi Bala, Head Department of Guru Nanak Studies presented the vote of thanks. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
