KMV Organizes an Extension Lecture on Periodic Table-Basis of Inorganic Chemistry

Jalandhar: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar’s PG Department of Chemistry organized an extension lecture on Periodic Table-Basis of Inorganic Chemistry under DBT Star College Scheme on Monday. The lecture was delivered by Dr.Heena Rekhi, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Khalsa College, Patiala, In her address she highlighted the Periodic Table and recognized it as one of the most important tool in understanding concepts in Chemistry. She further explained the usage of periodic table for chemists to predict the types of chemical reactions likely for an element. She also threw light on the concepts of trend of periodicity, atomic radios, Ionization Energy, electro negativity along the group and period. The quarries of the students were also answered by the resource person. The Principal of the College Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the department of chemistry for organizing such a meaningful lecture.
