Ludhiana, March 3, 2016: Free Trade Agreements (FTA)’s are mutual arrangement between two or more countries to encourage cross border trading. FTA’s help in reducing or eliminating tariffs and encourage non- tariff barriers to promote bilateral trade between two Nations and boosting their economies. FTAs normally cover trade in goods or trade in services. Government of India has also entered into trading agreements with various other countries to boost its external trade/ exports. Foreign Trade Policies of India has always focused on substantially increasing the country's share toward global market(s), for this various steps has also been taken to boosting trade with the rest of the world, by adopting policies and procedures that offers ease of doing business.
Against the above mentioned background, FIEO Ludhiana in association with Ministry of Commerce & Industry, O/o Jt. DGFT Ludhiana, Engineering Exports Promotion Council (EEPC) & Apparel Exports Promotion Council (AEPC) are jointly organising an “Interactive Session on FTA Outreach”, on March 4 between 4 pm and 6 pm at Hotel Friends Regency, Ludhiana.
The objective of this session is to spread awareness on various Free Trade Agreement(s) signed by GoI with various other countries, its benefits & how the FTA(s) can help in promoting Indian exports. Senior officials from Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MOCI), Govt of India will join the session to interact with the participating delegates. The officials will also make a presentation & live demonstration on various services & benefits available at Indian Trade Portal website, which has been recently launched by Govt of India to facilitate trade activities.
