Inter-School Quiz Competition Organised At PAU

Ludhiana, September 4, 2015: The faculty and students of Department of Food and Nutrition, PAU are celebrating National Nutrition Week under the theme “Better Nutrition- Key to Development.” Under the guidance of Dr(Mrs.) Anita Kochhar, Professor and Head, Department of Food and Nutrition, nutrition education was imparted to the seven public schools of city at regular intervals. Four teams each comprising of four students (both boys and girls) were selected for the Nutrition Quiz Competition which was held in the Department of Food and Nutrition. The students participated with full enthusiasm. The first prize was bagged by the team of Shri Harkrishan Public School whereas the second and third prizes were won by R.S. Model Senior Secondary School and Central Model High School, respectively.

The tips on the importance of having breakfast, packed tiffins, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle were imparted to the participants by Dr Kiran Grover, Co-ordinator of the event.

Dr Jatinder Kishtwaria, Dean, College of Home Science encouraged the students to gain more and more knowledge about nutrition and health. She also motivated them to participate in such events to build their confidence. Later, she distributed certificates and prizes.The competition was concluded with vote of thanks by the student of M.Sc. Food and Nutrition.
