Chandigarh, September 28, 2015: Haryana Governor, Prof.Kaptan Singh Solanki said that industrial training should be provided to youth according to the need of the time. This would help in dealing with the problem of unemployment.
The Governor was speaking after laying the foundation stone of Directorate of Industrial Training building to be set up at a cost of over Rs 19 crore at Panchkula near here today. He said that he was happy to know that this building would be totally environment friendly and based on solar energy.
He said that there were only 48 ITIs in 8-9 trades at the time of inception of Haryana in 1966 which now has increased to 328 having 79284 seats in 70 trades. He said that more trades should be started as per the requirement. He said that Haryana is developing at a fast pace and it has also taken initiative in implementing number of schemes of the Central Government like Digital India, Make in India, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana.
Presiding over the function, Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that new trades would be started in every district according to the need of the area. He said that the construction of new building would be completed within 18 months. The Department would make concerted efforts to take further the Skill Development Programme of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary, Industrial Training Department, Mr. Anil Kumar said that the construction work of model ITIs have been completed in Rohtak and Salhawas and the ITI at Gurgaon would also be made a model ITI. Apart from this, the women ITIs in Ambala and Rewari would be made digital. He said that Industrial Training Department is first such department where the concept of e-office has been implemented and so far more than 500 files have been uploaded in it.
Giving details of the new building of the Directorate of Industrial Training, Mr. Anil Kumar said that the building would have five floors and it would be constructed in 2500 square yards. He said that 47 officers and 270 employees would work under one roof after completion of building. He said that in all, there are 147 government and 181 private ITIs functional in the state. Apart from this, seven government and two private Instructor Training Course Centres are functional in the State. Recently, two new government ITIs have been opened in Bhirdana district Fatehabad and Dubaldhan district Jhajjar.
MLA, Panchkula, Mr. Gian Chand Gupta, MLA Sohna, Mr. Tejpal Tanwar, Secretary to Governor, Mrs. Neelam P. Kasni and other senior officers of District Administration Panchkula and Industrial Training Department were also present on this occasion. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
