Indo-Japan cooperation in rubber get a boost

Ludhiana, February 23, 2016: With the visit of 12-member strong rubber industry delegation to Japan, the business ties between the two countries in the field of rubber have received the much needed boost.

Supported by Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Govt of India, the delegation of All India Rubber Industries Association (AIRIA) explored wide ranging trade and investment opportunities in the rubber sector. The visit was coordinated by the Embassy of India, Japan.

The delegation was led by Mohinder Gupta, President AIRIA. The members of the delegation represented Vinko Auto Industries, Swastik Rubber, Oriental Rubber, Emerald Resilient, Paragon Group, KPM Plasto, Alaska Rubber, Bharat Enterprises, Vidit Polymers, Ritex Rubber, Chandra Rubber along with AIRIA secretariat.

During the visit, AIRIA delegation had detailed meetings with Japanese counterpart- Japan Rubber Manufacturers Association (JRMA). The delegation also met The Society of Rubber Science and Technology Japan (SRST), Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers Association (JATMA), Manufacturers of Rubber Products & Rubber Machinery, Importers- Exporters of Rubber Products, Japan Chambers of Commerce, Raw Material suppliers, R&D Centres, Testing equipment manufacturers, End-Users etc.

“During the meetings, delegation members were able to have first-hand understanding of famed Japanese technology, business prospects, techniques and the information about the Rubber industry scenario in Japan, The meetings were extremely fruitful and it gave an opportunity to the delegates to think and re-built a new economic relationship between India and Japan for accelerating greater volume of trade, investment, technology up-gradation, Joint ventures and R&D”,said Mohinder Gupta, President AIRIA.

“The Indian Embassy in Japan had made excellent arrangements for fruitful and result oriented visit. The Indian delegation also had an interaction session with Sujan R. Chinoy – Ambassador of India to Japan. Arvind Singh - Minister (Economic), Embassy of India accompanied the delegation in some of the meetings”, added Gupta.
