This is the place where illegal cutting of trees from 66 KV Sub-station at Mallanwala near Ferozepur has been found.
Ferozepur, February 28, 2013: The illegal cutting of trees from 66 KV Sub-station at Mallanwala near Ferozepur, has ultimately come to the notice of senior officers of Forest Department.
For the last few days, the incident of cutting of trees was kept secret but now the Enforcement Wing of the Electricity Department has formally started the investigation into the matter by raiding.
A detailed report is being submitted after thorough investigation from all angles by the team head Hardip Singh Sandhu, Executive Engineer Enforcement.
It is pertinent to mention that few days not only the cutting of trees was done from 66 KV Sub-station rather the bricks were also removed from the campus. The connivance of departmental official or some influential officials cannot be ruled out as report to this effect was neither reported to the police nor to the concerned departments. Immediately on pointing out by some media persons, the concerned officials of Enforcement in Powercom came into action and constituted the committee to inquire into the matter.
