&pictures, India's premium mass Hindi movie channel is all set for the Premiere of ‘Ghayal Once Again’ on Sunday, 18th September at 8:30 PM. Sequel to the super-hit 1990’s Ghayal, the film is directed by none other than Sunny Deol and produced by Dharmendra. This action drama depicts the misuse of power by the wealthy and focusses on the challenges that today’s youth face while fighting corruption. Along with Sunny Deol, the film also features Om Puri, Soha Ali Khan, Tisca Chopra and four youngsters Shivam Patil, Rishabh Arora, Diana Khan and Aanchal Munjal. Sunny Deol, Bollywood’s most loved action hero spoke on the occasion of the Premiere of ‘Ghayal Once Again’ on Sunday, 18th September only on &pictures.

1. How was the experience of working as an actor and director on this film?
I think direction is tougher because you need to command a whole army. As an actor you do your work and if you mess up or make a mistake, the director is there to stop you. In direction, one gets to create something of relevance and conveys their vision in totality. The young lot of actors are extremely energetic and they bring a different level of positive energy with them.

2. Tell us why Ghayal Once Again makes for a good watch on &pictures?
I have made this film just like I had made the first part. I reflected about the society in 1990, and am also reflecting about the society in 2016. The film is centered on the youth and it is something they can identify themselves with. We always dream about having someone like the main protagonist Ajay Mishra around us. When Ajay was young his life was different, whereas now things are not in black & white anymore. Ajay helps them fight corruption ingrained in every level of society. After the success of the film’s theatrical release, I hope the audience enjoy the movie on television.

3. What is your view on the censorship board?
We should imply censorship on internet and television which people misuse a lot as a medium to convey anything to anybody. From a creative point of view, I always feel that films do not raise any such concerns but surely the Censor Board feels otherwise.

4. Tell us something about your future projects…
Right now my priority is working towards my son’s film. My current projects include Bhaiyyaji Superhitt and the remake of Marathi film Poster Boyz with my brother Bobby Deol.

5. Ghayal Once Again became the highest grosser in the first week of its release. Did you anticipate this outcome?
A good storyline will justify itself as a sequel and it is a task. I want to continue with this franchise if someone comes to me with a good story. I will produce Ghayal 3 instead of directing the film, since it is a challenge to direct and act at the same time.

6. What’s your take on films being shot at real locations?
Ghayal Once Again has been shot at real locations in Mumbai so as my film Mohalla Assi which was shot in Varanasi. Real locations add a lot of credibility to the narrative. I believe if a script demands it, one should shoot a film at a real location.

7. How do you think the industry has changed today?
Today cinema has become too commercial, the process of film-making has become too commercial for my liking. Earlier producers were very passionate about their work but now everything is linked to money. We Deol’s do not have this attitude in our blood.

8. You have always been perceived as an action hero. Does that bother you?
The anger and outbursts of my characters stayed with people and they forgot the other emotions and vulnerability that I portrayed. So whatever genre I did, the audience termed it as an action or patriotic film. I cannot do anything about it, I get a lot of similar offers but now I am open to roles that will enhance my character more. I will see if I can go ahead and surprise myself while enacting such roles.
