HPCA announces a month long quiz contest for school children and to watch ODI

Dharamshala, September 3, 2014: Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) announced the hosting of a month long quiz contest as a part of the preparation for the India-West Indies ODI to be held here. The indo-west Indian ODI is fixed for Dharamsala on coming October 20.  This quiz which will be open to only school kids across Himachal Pradesh between the age group of 14-16 years will be based on Himachal cricket, and give surprises to winners in relation to October 20 ODI, (The 5th and final ODI of the tour).   
Anurag Thakur, President, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association said, “This will be the second international match to be held at the Dharamsala stadium and we at HPCA are delighted and would like to involve the young kids in this prestigious match. We have a big surprise planned for the winners who would get a chance to witness the action from very close.”
The quiz will consist of 5 questions based on Himachal cricket and will be revealed one by one on the Facebook page of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. The participants will have to send in their entries on the email id- [email protected] with ‘contest’ mentioned in the subject line. The first question of the contest will be revealed on September 3.
Talking more about the contest, Mohit Sood, Press Secretary, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association said, “This quiz is an initiative to celebrate the game of cricket and to expose the young children to the history of cricket in Himachal. We have based the questions of the quiz on cricket in Himachal Pradesh and we are sure that children would love to participate in this quiz.
Children who do not have Facebook access, can request for the questions through the email.
Dharamsala had its first ODI on January 27, 2013, when MS Dhoni lead India played its 5th and last ODI against Alaster Cook lead England. England won that match by 7 wickets.
