New Delhi, August 19, 2014: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday gave away appointment letters to dependents of as many as 59 land oustees of Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant (DCRTPP), Yamuna Nagar under a special policy for providing employment to such land oustees at a programme organised at Chandigarh.
Speaking on this occasion,  Hooda said that the State Government has decided to give employment to total 135 land oustees of DCRTPP out of which appointment letters has been given away to the dependents of 59 such oustees today. Employment to remaining 76 oustees would also be given soon, he added.
He said that employment would be given to them in different Power Utilities of the State namely Haryana Vidhut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL), Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (UHBVNL) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL).
The Chief Minister said that land for the setting up of DCRTPP was acquired between the year 1983 to 1986. Though as per the policy that time, there was no provision to give employment to these land oustees, yet keeping in view the interest of farmers, the State Government has framed a special policy for providing employment to land owners whose land has been acquired for setting up of this power project.
Similarly, the State Government has also given employment to oustees of 1200 MW capacity Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, Khedar , Hisar and 1500 MW capacity Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Plant, Jhajjar.   He said that as many as 514 people have so far been given employment in the Power Plants whose more than 2 acres of land had been acquired.
Hooda  said that prior to the year 2005; there was no Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) Policy in the State. The farmers used to get less compensation for their land as their land was acquired at the rate of just Rs. one lakh per acre.  No previous Chief Minister had taken care of interest of the farmers in the State, added Hooda.
Later,  Hooda gave  away appointment letters to  dependents of as many as 59 land oustees which included Nirmal, Sushil Kumar, Vineet, Rupvinder Singh, Amandeep Singh, Gulzar Singh, Parvinder Kumar, Jai Parkash, Ravinder Kumar, Ajay Singh, Rajat Rana, Anwar Singh, Ashwani Rana all of village Ratanpura, Krishna Devi, Julfan, Irfan Khan, Salim and Jisan of village Lapra, Dost Mohomad, Toyab, Neelam Kumari and Mohomad Julfan of village Mehmoodpur, Rupesh Kumar, Dehermender, Sapna Gill, Karamveer Singh and Sohit Kumar of village Pansara.
Others who were given away appointment letters included Shikha, Mohit Narwal, Akhil Kumar, Rimpy Chahal, Sanjeev Narwal, Akram, Aanchal Narwal, Ranjeet Singh, Arvinder Singh, Saurabh Narwal and Jasdeep Bagla of village Kalanaur, Meenu Devi, Ajay Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Shubham Sharma, Rahul Sharma, Vishal Verma, Shweta Sharma and Ashish Sharma of village Dusani, Jasmer Singh Saini and Arun Saini of village Isharpur, Balinder Singh and Sachin of village Tajakpur and Nayagaon respectively, Rahul Kumar, Raj Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Harminder Singh and Sarvjeet Singh of village Kayampura, Vikram Singh and Gourav Kamboj of village Fatehpur and Meenu and Aman Narwal of village Mandoli and Kayampura respectively.
