Ludhiana, March 18, 2016: “Cycle industry need to take lessons from countries like Taiwan where hi-end cycles are being manufactured at a very low rate because these days hi-end cycles are in demand,” this was stated by Pankaj Munjal MD, Hero Cycles at the inauguration of three days long fourth Cycle, Fitness and Outdoor Expo organized at Government College for Girls. The expo was inaugurated by Police Commissioner Paramraj Singh Umranangal and DCP Narinder Bhargav.
While addressing the gathering Pankaj Munjal gave the example of Taiwan and asked the industrialists to form a delegation and visit Taiwan for learning their techniques by visiting their cycle manufacturing plants. He said that demand for the hi-end bicycles has increased these days therefore they should manufacture hi-end cycles in India. He congratulated all the organizers of the expo and asked them to fix the goals for next year for better growth of industry.
Meanwhile MD of Neelam Cycles KK Seth said that such expos are very much required for the overall growth of cycle industry. He also stressed the need to manufacture the hi-end bicycles in the country and also the parts of these bicycles which are being prepared in foreign countries should be manufactured here. Today the demand for the good products has increased, he said while adding that state government should allocate for constructing exhibition centre.
FICO president Gurmeet Singh Kular said, this expo would contribute a lot in the development of cycle industry. He said this is fourth expo and in future too such expos would be organized. He shared that organization is developing a cycle track very shortly that would encourage safe cycling. After track construction new possibilities would crop up for the cycle industry, the need is to encourage the cycling. We got the maximum response from the public. More than 7000 visitors attend Expo at the end of the 1st day.
President of UCPMA Charanjit Singh Vishwakarma said that participation of countries from Taiwan in the expo would help in upgradation of the cycle industry and industry would be encouraged. He said that hi-end cycles are very much in demand these days therefore they should manufactured hi-end cycles.
On this occasion Varinder Sami who encouraged cycling was also honoured. Avon cycle is going to organize Avon Cyclogreen on March 20 for encouraging cycling.
MD Hero Cycles, Pankaj Munjal, MD Neelam Cycles KK Seth, FICO President Gurmeet Kular, UCPMA President Charanjit Singh Vishwakarma and district planning Board Chairman Hira Singh Gabria were present at the inauguration ceremony of the expo. On the first day of expo 120 companies displayed their products and 22 foreign companies are also participating. More than 1500 dealers are participating in the expo. The business organizations like FICO, UCPMA, Brado, MSME and NSIC are also supporting the expo. First day more than 10,000 people visited the expo.
