HEARING OF FINANCIAL FRAUD AT “THE KULAR AGRICULTURAL MULTIPURPOSE COOPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD” TO BE NOW HELD AT CENTRAL JAIL LUDHIANA
Ludhiana, August 21, 2018: The hearing of the financial fraud of crores of rupees held at “The Kular Agricultural Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd” would now be held at the Central Jail Ludhiana. With the efforts of Member of Parliament Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu, all the parties (mainly village residents) would not have to visit different offices of Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies, and instead the hearing would now be held at one place only, i.e. Central Jail Ludhiana. After this matter was brought to the notice of MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu by residents of village Kular, he took up this matter with the Department of Home Affairs Punjab, after which orders were issued that the hearing would now be held at one place (Central Jail Ludhiana) instead of several places previously. While providing information, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Punjab Mr Paramjit Singh informed that a financial fraud of Rs 7.91 crore was allegedly committed by Jagtar Singh, who at that time was posted as secretary, The Kular Agricultural Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. He informed that after the matter came into light, the department had got an FIR lodged against Jagtar Singh under sections 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120 B of IPC after which Jagtar Singh was sent to judicial custody. Mr Paramjit Singh further informed that previously, on the orders of Registrar, Cooperative Societies Punjab, the hearing was being held at four different places, i.e. offices of Assistant Registrars in Moga, Sultanpur Lodhi, Phillaur and Khanna. He said due to which the village residents had to face several problems as the hearing was being held at four different places. He informed that few days ago, MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu had visited the Kular village for a function, where the village residents took up this matter with him. The village residents had requested that the hearing should either be held in the village or at one place only. While taking this matter seriously, MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu took up this matter with the Department of Home Affairs, Punjab on priority basis. Now, the Department of Home Affairs Punjab has given its approval of holding the hearing of this case in Central Jail Ludhiana, which has come as a respite for the village residents. Mr Paramjit Singh informed that now, the hearing would be held in the presence of Jagtar Singh.
